COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: HEART TO HEART HOSPICE FOUNDATION
Areli Medical Devices is committed to spotlighting information about resources in our local community. One little-known local resource is the Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation, which features a special program that provides support to help fulfill unmet needs for veterans.
We learned more about the foundation when we partnered with Heart to Heart Hospice and Texoma Community Center’s Military Veteran Peer Network to organize this year’s Veterans & Family Resource Expo: Honoring 9/11. Hosted by VFW Post 2772, the expo is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 10:30am – 1:30 pm at 1707 Baker Road in Sherman.
Since the Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation plays such a significant role with bringing this event to Texoma, we asked Taylor Garner, Heart to Heart Foundation Ambassador, to share some insight about their mission and how they help serve veterans. Here's what Taylor had to say:
The Heart to Heart Foundation vision is to honor those nearing the end of life and those with life limiting conditions through greater care, greater education and a commitment to celebrate life. Veterans are our nation’s heroes and to give back to them, especially at a time of need, is a privilege. We work closely with local Veterans Hospitals and other veteran organizations to reach out to as many veterans and their families as possible. Our foundation was founded in 2008 by leaders of Heart to Heart Hospice Corporation.
It is our mission to give back in as many ways possible.
Veterans Program- We serve those who have served us through specialized hospice and bereavement services as well coordinating hardship support, counseling, legal services, critical unmet needs, transportation, wounded veteran support, legacy and honoring programs and aide for those veterans and family members in need.
We work closely with local Veteran Hospitals and other veteran organizations to reach out to as many veterans and their families as possible. Our community involvement includes Flag presentations/Pinning Ceremony, support for community events, coordinating 1st responders cookout, and Vet to Vet Volunteer Program.
Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation is primarily funded through generous donations from families and friends of Heart to Heart Hospice patients. We also have partnered with Amazon Smile and a small portion of each order goes directly to our foundation.
We like to help out as much as possible and fit their needs to the best of our ability.
